Don Looks good..... do you think you should put a stifiner across the bottom?? As it looks like you'll be putting the side bolts in shear with out it?? Shear in not out.

Thanks guys. No, it will be fine as is, Charlie. We considered puttiing an additional plate across the bottom but the plate is made of 3/8 thick steel.........we could have gone with quarter inch and it would have been strong enough.......it ain't moving.

If you have ever seen the Hurst mounts for the Olds engines they are WAY flimsier than this one. Those mounts are actually two mounts, one on each side, that are held in place by three bolts per side. Those mounts are putting all their load on the bolts, whereas this on is really supported by the two main bolts that go up under the timing cover. The two bolts per side are only there to give additional support and will be taking very little stress by comparison. And, they are 3/8 grade 8 bolts I put in those 4 bottom timing cover locations, and two 7/16 grade 8 bolts on the underside.

You guys are worried more about this one than I am !
