That might have been the case 25 years ago but with the 5.0 mustang the sbf is about as cheap to build as a sbc,when building a motor the machine work should be the same for any V8 with only the parts being a little higher but with a little shopping any motor could be built reasonable unless its a exotic very low production motor. I know nothing about the small block mopar but it cant be too far from the others by now.

If you build a sbc you may just have hundreds of dollars left over to spend on gas.
