I agree, All to often we buy the name brand just to say we have it . Summit doesnt build those cams so you know it is built by one of the majors and Summits reputation is on the line so it has to be good. That goes for any other parts they sell under their label.Something like headers, it should be pretty clear when you are paying , lets say 86 bucks for a set , they are not going to be as good as a 400 set. read what they are made of and decide for yourself. If you take care of them they will still give good service. I have used their 14.95 mufflers several times and for the money you cant beat them.
