Thanks for your help fellas, I feel quite foolish but I indeed was trying to build this motor like a small block Chevy I'm used to (see first pic below), as this is my first Ford. Also, the date stamp does indeed have two dots below it, alas making it a '72. Crazy what you can learn with the help of some of you veterans! After my bearing snafu, I got rolling and have the engine most of the way assembled (See second pic). Just need to go through the rocker assemblies, install them and the intake, and we'll be there!
