I believe the FE/390 block is nearly 100 lbs lighter than a 385/460. If you use AL heads, intake and waterpump on a 390 you are close to the weight of a small block 289. I can't say for sure, but I thought the use of a 460 required shock tower modification etc but someone else will know better for a mustang.
