offenhauser make a hi rise 2x4 intake.i used one on my 65 galaxie with a 67 428. used carters carbs mounted backwards worked great better than the stock intake that i had. if it was going on a 390 why? i'm no fan of the 390. the only one that ever impressed me was the 401 hp version which was avaible in 1961 and 1962. using stock 390 heads is a no.no. be carefull of the heads that have four bolt holes on the exhaust these were heads for the 390's in a fairlanes with 2 barrel carb. they have real small intakes runners they don't breath. on the bell housing for 390 truck engine, there are 2 different housings one for the hd trans(call the granny gear trans) the other is for the 3-speed top loader which will accept a top loader 4-speed. but if the 390 is going in to a car try to find a car bellhousing.some cars use the block to support the equializer shaft some use the bell housing.
