The carburetor I replaced was indeed a hot air choke with the tube that ran to the exhaust manifold. It was a great system until some plastic bit on the choke was broken among other issues.

I was just wondering where was the best place to put the hot wire on a generator run system. I do appreciate the info that was provided earlier. Any info is useful in my opinion. Thanks.
