I always dump the oil and filter after the run in. Gets rid of all the assembly lube plus any dirt that was in the oil system when you assembled the engine. I also like to be able to get a good look at the oil after the run in to make sure there's nothing there but oil!!!!! I cut the filter open, too.......Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!
