the 429s, especially the california equipment cars, were very choked motors, and didn't perform well at all, especially as for the cost compared to other motors offered the same years.... the only 429s i've personally come across are california smog equipped motors.... i'm sure with enough money dumped into them the 429s can be a great motor, as can any motor be great depending on how much money you put in it
