Yeah, I know what you mean. I did the same thing with transmissions. Went through 14 of them and two axels. Never did break a rearend though. Got so my brother and I could change a trans in about 45 minutes and that was laying under the car in the street. Tran's were cheap in 1955. About $35 from the local junk yards and that was with overdrive.
