In Canada only the Ford trucks were called Mercury. The meteor was the name given to Canadian Ford cars. The 51 Meteor has the same grille as a 51 Mercury. If the grille is good it's probably worth more than the engine. If it doesnt run it might be worth $100 if you can find someone who wants one to rebuild. If it runs good you could get $500 but buyers are scarce. There might be more interest in a Meteor parts car than just the engine. Get some pictures and put it on ebay. Put it under parts & accessories. The listing fees are much lower than cars for sale fees. My brother is looking for a Mercury pickup any year from 46 to 60. Most of the ones on ebay are in western Canada. He doesn't want to travel that far to bring it home. What part of Canada are you from? It's a big country.
