Hey Gerry;
Holley carbs are very good if you know how to work on them and the are very easy to rebuild if you need to.
How long has the car been sitting??? The gas today has alot of water in it because of the Ethanol.
If the car sits any amount of time the water goes to the bottom of the tank and is the first to be picked up.
So If the car has been sitting you may want to drain the tank and clean the carb out or fuel bowl out.
Drain the fuel line then put new fuel in it and try starting it. I just want thru this with my 72 corvette.
I know about the fuel because I hauled fuel to gas stations for the last 20 some years.
Also if you see a tanker in a gas station you could pull in and ask the driver if he has a old tube of water paste
you can have. Then take it home and smear a little past on a stick then stick it in the fuel you have.
If there is any water in your fuel the paste will change color.
Kurt
