I have just been brozing thru this post---several basics have been totally misapplied or totally ignored---

In no particular order I have read about a fuel pump malfunction/failure, exhaust headers hooked up where one side blows right into other side, air cleaner base appears to be offset severely, air cleaner mounted thru lid into low pressure area, jet sizes completely out of wack, fuel in oil-----

There needs to be a structured road to resolving these issues not just e bay or craigs list swapping of carbs, etc

First the exhaust has to be separated
Fuel supply/pressure verified to have adquate flow with only around 4 pounds of pressure
Oil changed
Jet size at what Holley put in carbs
3.5 or 4.5 power valve
lock out timing by safty wiring advance mech inside dist, disconnect vacume
set timing to 20-34 degrees
prime carb
no aircleaner
start car
smile

drive car to reasonable speed

put aircleaner on--drive car to reasonable speed

There is a lowpressure/vacume area behind the back glass THAT will effect carb--it will cause the power valve to open and feed too much fuel and the carb will be very erratic acting differently at different vehicle speeds

Put some bright colored yarn around the different areas of the car and video at moderate speeds( It might take 80mph to get a good representation of where the air wants to go)

If you want I will come to Me. and work on it for 2 hours for $1000 plus travel expenses
