relieving crank case pressure
After removing what I believe to be an EGR valve off of my intake on my CSB I noticed the front intake manifold gasket started to push out at the outter ends and later the gasket was completly blown out. I believe that I am in the process of learning about crank case pressure. I dont plan on putting the valve back on as I will be putting on a Weiand intake soon. Can some one explain to me how to propperly allow the crank case to breathe?

Something would have to be wrong with the PCV to allow crank case pressure to build up enough to blow out those seals. Check to make sure the breather isn't plugged up and the valve is operational.

Ok, so maybe what I thought was the EGR is actually the PCV and I removed the PCV valve what then ?

was the valve on the valve cover (PCV)? or was it on the intake(EGR)?
