I just fixed this same problem, but the bearing didn't get to spin yet.
The DUNGA DUNGA was my #6 rod bearing. the heck of it was, it wasn't just the #6 rod bearing that had too much wear. It was every bearing except the cam bearings. They all had to be replaced. It was well worth it, to me, to tear the engine down and make sure of the extent of the damage. Now I should have no unpleasant surprises.
One thing you should do if you do tear it down is Plastigauge your bearings. Simple process, it tells you your bearing tolerance. Kits are cheap for plastigauge
next, after you fix the bearing, is determine why it failed....Buick newbie since 1989
