Most electric fans have an adjustment for the fan to come on when your engine reaches a certain degree. On my 37 chevy, I don't have a mechanical fan and have two electric fans mounted in front of my radiator and when I sit ideling for any amount of time the fan is set to go on at 180 degrees or if I wanted to I could set it at 200 or 160.
