So I have heard bad things about BBC and flat tappet cams, seems to be the oil nowadays doesn't handle the high pressure as well as it used to.

Is there any additive I can use in my oil or a performance oil that would extend the life of my engine, specifically the camshaft? The cam in question is a Comp Cams XE284H.
