I brought the car home and now see that hole. I was thinking it was on the carb, but it's on the vaccum assembly. My hole also sucks air. Don't know why, but it runs just fine like that. Still kind of thinking you have a foulded plug. Put some new ones in it and let us know. I also would not plug the hole.

I had the Neighbor come and look at it. I talked with him at Church the other night. He has a 40 Ford with a 350 in it. He came and checked my wires, and they are right. He said the filter would grab anything that came from a fuel line. He adjusted the carb some, and the miss went away. He said my main problem is bad gas. I have regular in it. I put Sta-Bil in it in the Fall, but he said to run Premeium. He said he has it in all of his cars, and even the lawn mower. He said he never had a problem in the Spring. He said it starts right up every time. He told me to get 3 or 5 gals. and run it for a while, and everything should work just fine.. I will just have to wait and see.. Al

Well it's going in the right direction! Put some good gas in it and run it. Hopefully it is straightened out. I chased an issue similar to this for two months before ending up rebuilding the carb which fixed it.
