about the worst finsh of any engine is the 90s chevy V8s i stock form. i mill many heads and all rebuilds get a deck job some of the deck finsh is so bad its like a saw tooth .will work the fire rings till they blow or leak you need a good head gasket if your boosting .a gasket felpro MLS or cometic or the felpro steel plate o ring com like the f1094 or a SCE titan s11064 $$$ but may be your best bet if the deck has not been milled you can get a long mill file and cross file the deck till smooth to .do not use the 3m rollock fiber wheels them will make the deck worst then stock deck gaskets are the same up till the lsLast edited by pat mccarthy; 12-14-2010 at 02:45 PM.
