Thread: Embarrassing trip today

No joy yet - but tomorrow's another day.
This is, as a home owner, a time of the year I don't lack for things to do - like raking @#$%^& acorns, then in two-three weeks, the @#$% leaves.
Everything is clean and freshly painted and the gaskets are Gaskacinched to the timing cover, just waiting. And that stuff is a waste of $$ as it's only repackaged flammable contact cement.Dave W

Still no joy brought by the mail person - so off to find a piece of 5/16" drill rod (now I'm starting to understand why the USPS has lost several billion dollars so far this year)Dave W

Pat - not a problem. I'll just put it away for the next motor. Since it was raining today, I did a bunch of other things. And yeah, after I posted the last, I did cut down a new 5/15 drill that I had - wasn't thinking - drill rod = drill bits. Interesting - that 'E' camshaft needed a 1.5" pin to instead of the 1.375 to bottom and not miss the eccentric.Dave W

Six freaking days since you mailed it!!!
I had no idea that Michigan was somewhere outside of the solar system - and I'm originally from Michigan.
Thanks for sending it off to me - I'm sure it will get used eventuallyDave W

Since the pony express took so long and a drill bit was sacrificed for the good of all, I even had some time to crawl underside to do some new car tightening and other odds and ends - decided I really didn't like how I had run the gas line - so off to Summit for some more AN fittings - I already have enough3/8" SS and -6 braided line.
Pat - I just found that McMaster Carr has 5/16x1.500 dowel pins @25 for~$8.00 or so and are 20,000 pound alloy steel. Next order there, I'll get a box if for no other reason - just to have themWho knows, maybe I can use them in a slingshot to assassinate my excess squirrel population
Now, if we could just convince Ford to supply dowels with their camshaftsDave W

Went to a restaurant with She Who Must Be Obeyed. We sat down and pulled sandwiches from our bags. The waitress approached us and said, "Excuse me, you can't eat your own food here" So we...
