that does not really add up to a good combo.. the 472-500 redlines at approx 4,500 RPM.. in a boat, cruising speed would be at or around 3,500 RPM. you could adjust that to some degree with prop pitches, and with the HP you could run a steeper pitch'd prop, that would cruise at lower RPM's but it's only going to do just so much.. IMO a BB is overkill for 18'
