Spray penatraiting fluid all over the valve train and tap "TAP" the top of the vavles to free any that are sticking in the guides,so you do not bend any of the pushrods when you try to crank it over.
EDIT...ooooops theres no overhead valves on a flathead
Thats what happens when you are born in 1970 Last edited by shawnlee28; 05-21-2007 at 07:02 PM. Its gunna take longer than u thought and its gunna cost more too(plan ahead!)

Something that worked good for me on a 48 Dodge, take out the plugs and squirt some miracle oil in each cylinder and let it soak for 48 hours. I did that and the car had been sitting for 17 years, and it turned over (jumped with a 12 volt battey) right away.
When it finally fired up ran smooth as a Singer sewing maching.

i tried firing it today, and it sounds like my starter solenoid is messed up, but im not sure if the car is a 6v or 12v, i put a 12v battery, do you think i can burn something if i keep trying with this battery.?

We need to know that bit of info first before we can go on. How did you manually turn it over and how far?

You aren't being very clear on what you have done so far, and that is making it tough on us to help you. Previously you said you had manually turned the motor over, now you are saying you are going to try to do it tomorrow. Gotta help us out here bud. Did you get it to turn over or not? and how far did it turn?

On the suface, it sounds like the motor is froze up, but it's impossible to tell from the conflicting info you are providing.
