that distributor will work fine, the only problem i've run into with the HEI dizzy's is that they tend to not clear anything screwed into the top of the intake manifold that is close to the distributor, for instance the heater hose fitting.... only 289 i get about 5 degrees of adjustment room, which is plenty if you get your dizzy dropped in right.... overall the HEIs run excellent in fords, especially if you're used to an old points ignition
