only carbs that arn't going to work with it, are the Tea Pot holley's that Ford used for the Load O Matic distributors in the 50's, the only factor with that dizzy is clearence. hook it up to ported vac advance ( factory, no vac at idle ). you should get about 36* total advance with that dizzy, 26* mechanicle and 10* vac advanceYou don't know what you've got til it's gone

that distributor will work fine, the only problem i've run into with the HEI dizzy's is that they tend to not clear anything screwed into the top of the intake manifold that is close to the distributor, for instance the heater hose fitting.... only 289 i get about 5 degrees of adjustment room, which is plenty if you get your dizzy dropped in right.... overall the HEIs run excellent in fords, especially if you're used to an old points ignitionjust because your car is faster, doesn't mean i cant outdrive you... give me a curvy mountain road and i'll beat you any day
Dammit, another good ol boy gone. Condolence to the family. RIP Mike
