Question About My Fe 360?
CAN ANYBODY GIVE ME SOME HELP FIGUREING OUT WHAT i'VE GOT . I BOUGHT WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A 390. i TOOK THE GUYS WORD FOR IT AND SENT IT OFF TO BE BORED. iT HAD TO BE BORED TO 4.11. WHEN IT CAME BACK I CHECKED THE STROKE THE STROKE IS 3.50. WHEN I CACULATE THIS OUT I COME UP WITH 372 CUBIC INCHES. WHILE THE ENGINE WAS OUT BEING BORED I ORDERED .060 OVER 390 PISTONS. i HAD THE PISTONS MOUNTED OD THE RECONDITIONED RODS THAT CAME WITH THE ENGINE. AFTER IT IS ALL INSALLED THE PISTONS DON'T COMPLEATELY COME UP FLUSH WITH THE YOP OF THEENGINE DECK.
I THINK WHAT I HAVE IS A 360 TRUCK ENGINE BORED .060 WITH 390 PISTIONS. THE ENGINE SHORT BLOCK IS ALREADY ASSEMBLED AND IF IT WILL RUN THIS WAY I'M GOING TO USE IT. IF NOT I HAVE A 1963 390 WITH FOUR BARRELL INTAKE OUT OF A 63 1/2 GALAXIE. CAN I SWAP THE CRANK OUT OF IT TO THE 360 WITH OUT CHANGING THE RODS?
THIS IS MY FIRST FE ENGINE. I NORMALLY DEAL WITH 385 SERIES MOTORS.
I ALSO HAVE A CRUISEMATIC TRANSMISSION OUT OF THE 63 GALAXIE. IS IT ANY GOOD?
