With what your doing you might get away with out reaming the ridge, but if it were me I'd ream the ridge hone the cylinders and replace the rings.Charlie

The whole point of cutting the ridge is so you don't break the pistons when you remove them. I was always of the opinion that if the engine had enough ridge to worry about, it needed reboring anyway. From the sound of your post, you aren't pulling the pistons, just doing the bottom end. If so, don't do anything to the bores.
