When is it absolutely necessary to cut the cylinder ridge? Of course it gets cut when the cylinders are bored but I am not boring the block,just turning the crank and replaceing rod/main bearings. Wouldn't think that this would make any difference in actual stroke or piston travel. Cylinder walls are fine and piston rings are fine(no blowby or low compression)and no other machine work is needed. Obviously,I'm trying to save money and need the vehicle running soon.
