That's true, but you want to talk it over with the muffler shop guy beforehand.
I've seen more than a few Mickey Mouse jobs where they plugged the new pipe into the original at a 90 degree angle.
Quick and dirty it was.

More than a few muffler shops will cut offending pieces of your car off with a gas torch if they're in the way.
Been there, done that when a muff shop cut the stock mounts off my pickup just to make running the new pipes quick and easy.

There are a heckuva lot of really good muffler shops out there.
Try to find one and stay away from the butchers....
