Hmmm...... I'd heard of them mixing alcohol and water to spray into the superchargers on WWII fighters, but hadn't heard about adding acetone to the mix. From what I've been reading, it might've been a benefit, tho'.
When they phased out super leaded gas about 25 years ago, I tried water injection on my high compression Bronco and it worked very well. Extremely well, in fact, but it were a bear to keep clean and functioning. Severe detonation would happen instantly when the water stopped.
