Flint, Michigan, is where the main Chevrolet Manufacturing complex once stood. It’s now just a huge brownfield, as all the buildings were demolished several years ago. The Mayor of Flint, who was a certified idiot, proposed building a drag strip there to shore up the economy of the area. This site is less than 1/4 mile from downtown Flint, in the middle of a residential area. Needless to say, his idea was shot down by just about everyone in the county! Even the racers knew this was a bad idea! His wife owns the largest GM dealership in the WORLD, as the commercials attest, so I’m thinking politics had something to do with it.
