I still can't believe Ford walked away from this team. I'll still pull for JFR but it's going to be hard watching him in a Chevy.

I sure hope "team" means everybody

So it'll be an all GM (kinda) show.. GM - Toyota, same difference. And now that Ford has pulled out, I wonder what happens to the 500 inch motor program they worked on? HMmmm..

And let's be realistic, funny car and top fuel is the same deal, the cars don't really represent anything! The bodies are only there to display sponsorship info.. 'cause they sure don't resemble any car built by any auto manufacturer that I know of. I like racing, so I'll be watching.. and like always - I'll be cheering for an underdog.

I'd like to say THEY should run car boddies that are of todays cars not that fiberglass stuff. Nascar is the same way build a Chevy build a Ford but use the cars as they are maybe then they (GM FORD ) would build 2 dr. cars again..

All the floppers look the same to me. Low altitude, high-speed billboards. I'll still watch, though. BTW, it's not that much different in NASCAR. Damn, I miss Fireball Roberts . . .

I'm surprised they were able to keep this under wraps as long as they have, the Winternationals aren't that far off. NHRA has to approve whatever body is going to be used, regardless of the name hung on it, and there's got to be at least one test mule with wind tunnel time if they expect to be competitive, and then production time to get the final product built. Maybe it's the cynic in me, and I'm not interested enough to spend the research time, but I wonder how much difference (beside the nose graphics on the vinyl wrap) there is between last years "Mustang" body and this years "Camaro" body. Not to mention all those "Ford 500" engines...........anything more than a valve cover swap? In reality it doesn't really matter I guess, this is, not unlike NASCAR, effectively spec car racing where each team has access to the same technology, or at least the best they can afford.

Not much brand loyalty in top fuel NHRA classes, more of a driver fan base. I agree with cffisher, put stock bodies on the cars, maybe allow funny car teams to stretch the wheelbase within the stock body dimensions, like back in the 60's, but still use steel factory cars. I get tired of having to look at a sticker to figure out the make and model.

People are in the seats for the sound, the feel and the competition. 200 mph vs 300 mph makes little difference, at least IMO.

I'd be a John Force Fan if he was running a "Le Car" top fuel funny car. That wouldn't be any worse than when he was running a Chevy Citation. What "polished turds" those cars were.

That car of Force's looks about as much like a new Camaro as my Aunt Sally's Plymouth Reliant does.

I just read that, thinking what a hoot. It will be real interesting to see what he can do with the BoweTie . I can see myself paying more attention that race team. GM were his roots, guess we can say he went back home where the grass truly is greener on the other side.

Not to hurt any feelings, but I do find this an amusing statement:"Force's car looks about as much like a new Camaro as my Aunt Sally's Plymouth Reliant does"

Looking at his last herd of cars, I do believe the same could be said for those. Aunt Sally's Plymouth Reliant sure has a way of morphing into some different shapes,

I guess I fail to see how John, etal will do any better or worse with Chevrolet than they did with Ford. Same Chassis, Body (different wrap) & engine ( different name on valve covers).

All good points from everyone. And we all agree.. I also wish the cars looked like something we drove everyday.. but then I guess that is what Pro Stock is for?
