Not much brand loyalty in top fuel NHRA classes, more of a driver fan base. I agree with cffisher, put stock bodies on the cars, maybe allow funny car teams to stretch the wheelbase within the stock body dimensions, like back in the 60's, but still use steel factory cars. I get tired of having to look at a sticker to figure out the make and model.
People are in the seats for the sound, the feel and the competition. 200 mph vs 300 mph makes little difference, at least IMO.
I'd be a John Force Fan if he was running a "Le Car" top fuel funny car. That wouldn't be any worse than when he was running a Chevy Citation. What "polished turds" those cars were.Last edited by lakeroadster; 01-16-2015 at 10:07 AM.
