We already know what is going to happen, ford will win 2 years in a row with domination and they will have to change the rules again to make it fair.:D
Man, the way the Pro Stockers run now, don't know if anyone can dominate, not even my beloved Blue Ovals!!!!! A few hundredths can be the difference in 1 to 16 in qualifying times.......
Well the Greek is older than me-----I could/would maybe drive a ProStock again but maybe just sitting in the seat while warming up a top fueler would be enough cockpit time in one of them IF i could still get in one----
Darin Morgan is doing the primary work onthe Ford engines---he was with Reher-Morrison and now with Profiler---does a lot of work for Nascar teams
We been looking at family pics lately because of a couple reunions/funerals, etc and couple of upcoming weddings----Have I ever matured!!!!!!
Also---I think Line might be OK, but that Anderson guy-----uhhhh, and I wish NHRA would make him leave his safty equipment on until he comes to a stop-----didn't anyone ever have a problem in a race car after the finish line????
Heard of the Morgan dude.... believe he was one of the dude's involved with the Yates heads??? or am I thinking of somebody else....????
As for the Greek, he looked old when I saw him run at Lyons while out in Caliphony visiting relatives-----I was still in grade school that summer!!!!!!!:LOL::LOL:
Jerry, who was the guy in Texas back in the early 80's who undid the belts, then went sideways and got thrown out past the finish line???? Maybe Baker or something like that???? Guess Anderson has never seen the results of that.....
I blew a slick after the finish line, just in a Super Comp car.....Dang glad I still had the belts on, one heck of a ride!!!!!!
How about Lee Shepard????
The consensus is 79 or 80 and the Greek is just letting everybody guess. I talked to him at length at Topeka, one hell of a nice guy, and I don't think it's about winning, it's just the love of the sport. It's a damn shame he doesn't get the same kind of recognition as others of his era.:(
Heck, if Hershel McGriff at 81 can place 13th in a circle track race, a straight line quarter miler ought to be easy http://www.racintoday.com/archives/7921 :LOL:
Yep he was killed during a test session----helmut either wasn't fastened or he had taken it off when the gust front of an approaching storm(they were in Oklahoma) upset the car on rollout at high speed and he crashed
