I have a 1966 Chevy that I cannot get to hook up! It has 3.73 gears, a turbo 350 w/ a 2400 stall, and a basic SBC with 325 Ft. Lbs. to the wheels at 2600 rpm. The rear is still "one tire fire" but I would like to change that. How involved is installing a spool? Basically what I am asking is what else do you need to install it? I am goind to change the gears out to 4.11 when this happens. Thanks alot!!
If you can do the gears then the spool is no problem. The spool replaces the axle and spider gears in the diff. once you get the carrier(ring gear) out of the car, remove the axle gears and put the spool in place of it. no special tools needed for that.
