Keeping a pet 700 lb gorilla in the backseat would definitely startle the crap out of a would be thief. You would also have thief to hand over to the cops, even tho he would be dead from a coronary.

I got a news letter a while ago with a stolen alert like I'm sure others did. I looked on youtube trying to find the video but did find a TV news report with video. it was a 57 Chevrolet that was stolen in daylight hours and neighbors security camera shows it being pushed down the road with a truck. here the link to make your blood pressure go up. they say people are following people home from shows in Kalifornia.

Chick Kozsis got his roadster stolen last year at the GNRS. He had it parked at the motel along with quite a few other hot rods. The thieves rolled the car from its parking space and presumably into a trailer. No sign of it a year later. Had he a GPS alert system, he was only a few steps away. Of course, with all the hot rods nearby, anyone who saw people loading a car would not be alarmed...such was common near the show. Fortunately, Chick had agreed value insurance and, after due dillegence, the insurance company cut him a check for the agreed amount. Since the car had quite a few relatively unique parts and was pretty well known, it is presumed to have gone outside the USA. The rule is (1) dont let them have access to the car, (2) if they get access, have an immediate notification that something is amiss, and (3) have real insurance with agreed value. In lieu of all that, have a remote control ejection seat that you can activate from your cell phone.

One of my favorite systems I saw a while back was a club that attached to the steering wheel. It was unique in that it also had a taser system so if you touched the club you'd get zapped. They don't make them anymore, but they do show up used from time to time. Anything that makes your car less desireable to steal, is usually the best you can do. But like everybody here has said, any system can be defeated, if somebody wants your car enough. In the past a few members here had posted renting RV's and trailers and staying at a campground with your car, where your closer to it, and can here someone messing around, but eve that's not fullproof. Thieves just suck!
