Geez, that thing is gonna be so sweet !! My wife and I took our first step today on our road to Deuce ownership. We did the drag race scene years ago, but I guess with age you move on to the cruisers. By the way Project THX, it's because of this thread she agreed to do it. We had seen some really not so good examples around this area of "Rushed Together" coupes that really didn't interest her at all. When she viewed the pics on this thread, she got into the idea. So, I guess I owe you a beer !!Last edited by Weasel Diesel; 07-23-2009 at 04:30 PM.

Chassis Started
Hey Guys,
Here a few NEW pictures of the coupe sitting on it's chassis. The body and chassis has been moved to my buddies shop (Vintage Mid-West) as the weather here is Kansas is a little to crazy to guess at. This means I now can work on the coupe anytime I feel like it (it's nice to have friends into cars). Last night I got the front traction bar hangers added to the frame and next comes the tranny mount and boxing plates. It shouldn't be to long and you all will be able to see the chassis painted and ready to go !!!

Do yourself a big favor and replace that concrete block with a jackstand, especially if you are going to be sliding underneath it. Concrete blocks are dangerous. We wouldn't want to read that you were the victim of an accident.

Hey rumrumm,
Yeah the concrete blocks were used just to take pictures of the project. I ALWAYS use jackstands when working on the chassis but at the time when I was taking these photos my other stands were being used so I had to use the blocks. Thanks for trying to keep me safe!

Hey Weasel Diesel,
You are kinda correct about my avatar as the coupe body is the same but that is all. I am actually building two clones! One for myself and one for a guy over in England. The painted body sitting on the chassis is the one going to England. Mine has been put on the back burner untill I finish the England coupe. The difference between the two Graffiti Coupes is that the one going to England will match the original coupe as it sits today (except for the rear license plate location) and mine will match the coupe as it was in the movie. Yes, there are small changes between the two coupes but most people will never catch the differences. At the present time I have all the parts to complete both cars (LOTS OF YEARS HUNTING DOWN THE CORRECT PARTS) so it's just a matter of time before they are put together. Yes, I will be posting both builds on this site so everyone can see the differences between the two coupes .

Hey Weasel Diesel,
As of now, NO ONE makes the correct headers. Sanderson has a kinda close copy but when compaired to the original coupes headers the difference is night and day. At the present time I am working with New Age Motorsports on getting the correct headers made. These will be a 100% match to the original coupes headers. PLEASE TAKE NOTE, the origianl coupe headers are differnent for one side to the other. Different header flanges and different collectors (from one side to the other). The headers that N.A.M. will be making will have these same different items on their headers along with all of the seen welds like on the original coupes! And now you know how anal I am !

LOL Another quicky question and I'll leave you alone...(for a while), Does the movie car use a chopped radiator / Grille??

Hey Weasel Diesel,
Ask me all the questions you want! That's why I am posting this coupe on here. As for the radiator question, Yes, the original coupe has a 4" chopped radiator, grille shell and insert. This can all be bought at New Age Motorsports. Yes, Ed and I have been working together for sometime to make this coupe just perfect !!!!!
Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
