Man that's cool having the man him self stop by.
We gotta reduce them picture sizes, makes it hard
to tell what we are looking at.
Nice car though. Kurt

Hey Kurt,
Thanks for the comments! Yeah I know the pictures are WAY TO BIG, it's just that I'm not real good with the computer and I haven't figured out how to make them small. Don't worry as I am trying to fix this promblem and when I do I will go back and replace all of the photos.

I'm not sure how to resize photos on my own computer, but if you post them at photobucket.com or a similar place, it is real easy to resize them to 640x480 which will fit the screen perfect.
Interesting history. I can see why it would take so long to make the car just from a cash point of view, but being the purist you are, it must be like tracking a missing person, sorting out wrong info from right! Nice job!" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

I thought it was in a museum, but a quick search shows a man by the name of Rick Figari from california, who restored the carYou don't know what you've got til it's gone
Matt's 1951 Chevy Fleetline- Driver
1967 Ford Falcon- Sold
1930's styled hand built ratrod project
1974 Volkswagen Super Beetle Wolfsburg Edition- sold

You are correct Matt167, Rick Figari does own the original coupe today. Rick lives in San Fransico but Rick is not the one who restored the coupe, that honor goes to Steve Fitch from Witchita Kansas. Steve lives about 2 1/2 hours from me and I have been to Steve's house and got the REAL STORY on the original coupe. The story he tells sure is a lot different than what Figari tells in all the magazines.Last edited by project thx 138; 05-04-2009 at 01:38 PM. Reason: spelling corrected

I searched our local Grafetti Events calendar, but not sure if the car will be here this year. This is a must event for you and your car!

Hey stovens,
Believe it or not but I have already been contacted by these guys to have my coupe come out and do their show (when I get it finished of course). I will charging for rides in the coupe (down the same streets Milner cruised on) and I will be giving ALL the money to this groups charities. These are REALLY a GREAT BUNCH OF PEOPLE!!!

Great looking car! Now you need to build Ralph Malph's 29 roadster pickup from Happy Days.

speaking of American graffiti, There is a collectors 'toy' collection called moments in time, and they did a limited release of the known cars from American Graffiti.. ( Milner coupe, the Merc ect... ).. they feature a 1:64 diecast replica of the car, and a backdrop with original scenes and charecters from the movie put in a display case...... I got the Milner coupe, which the backdrop is Mels drive in.... the car isn't completly correct but it's close... painted firewall, liscense plate is the wrong color and number, and the yellow is more bananna colored than it should be
there made by Motor max and I got mine at WalmartYou don't know what you've got til it's gone

Matt,I've got the whole set.Got the coupe online several years ago then stumbled on the Merc at Wallyworld, found the 55 at another Wallyworld and found Ron Howards 59 Chevy at yet another Wallyworld,I think that was all of em produced, but ya gotta have Suzanne Summers T-Bird so I found one that looked right to the set.Only thing missing is the 62 Ford Police car.
Mine are the big ones I think 1/18 scale
