Properly install the screen: When installing the screen on your new oil pump, NEVER use a vise to hold the pump during installation. Damage to the oil pockets will occur no matter how gently you may think you are clamping the pump in the vise. By damaging the oil pockets the oil pump may jam or seize during normal operation. Always install a new gasket when applications require them. It is also very important to utilize the correct tools designed to install press-in design screens. Your local tool supplier will have these tools available.
