Subset of the question:
I see SBC roller rockers with the guides on the roller tip for Vortec engines. The use of the tips guiding off the valves eliminates the use of push rod guide plates.
Could these rockers be used on any stock or aftermarket head instead of using guide plates? Disadvantages?
