Spark is good!
Crank for five seconds. Then hop out and break loose the fuel line. ( at carb ) You should get a little burst of fuel, not much, just a squirt. It will verify fuel to carb..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.
