Unconnected White Wire on Ignition Coil
This is for a 1991 Chevy G10 Van. The van originally came with a 5.0L (305cu.in.), but the engine was swapped to a 5.7L (350cu.in.) before I bought it.
Here is a picture of the coil:

The coil has two connectors connected to the top of it. Each connector has a white and pink wire. The white and pink wire coming from the first connector go to the distributor. The pink wire from the second connector goes into the wiring harness. As you can see from the picture the white wire coming from the second connector isn't connected to anything.
So I'm wondering if this should be connected to something.
The van runs fine. This may be a case of if it's not broke don't fix it. Still, when there are wires just hanging around not connected to anything, I really like to know where they should be connected to.
I've looked all around the area and I can't find any other unconnected leads. I have the Haynes manual, and I've looked at all the wiring diagrams and I can't find the ignition coil on any of them.
Does anyone know where this wire should go, or if I should be concerned?
Or does anyone know where I can get a wiring diagram for this vehicle?Last edited by unckybob; 10-20-2012 at 03:23 PM.
