Remove the coil wire, first!! Take out the spark plug for #1 cylinder, put your thumb over the hole, use a remote on the starter or have someone bump the engine over with the key. You'll feel the compression in the cylinder as the piston comes up on the compression stroke. Then, line the timing mark on the balancer up with the tdc mark on on the pointer. Might have to turn the engine by hand to get the mark lined up exactly.
