Are you dead sure it is not coming from above, running down to the pan/block joint, and then finding a path down the side of your pan? I chased a leak on my new 347 including changing the pan gasket and finally found problems with my valve covers (no baffles on the breather connections, poor fit to the heads). A new pair of valve covers and it has been dry as a bone, so far.
