    rod length has nothing to do with what it bumps into--but stroke and the profile of the lower/big end and bolts do-----

    Seems i had a 6" rod sbc that bumped into the cam about midway in the beam, C&A 100's i believe. With the 5.7 C&A rod it'd clear. You're right about bumping into the bolts. I think Crower changed the centerline or something on the cam to get some clearance at the beam (wish i had that original cam, it didn't have any space between the lobes - very sexy looking).
