Here is the thing about building a car like your 57, Dave. It has to be impractical as h***, loud, and outrageous. When you pull into a show or just drive it you want the crowds to part, like Moses and the Red Sea. Gassers, by their very nature, are animated beasts that really only belong on the drag strip, but we love to take them on the roads anyway.

I know a person can get more HP per buck from a big block, but lots of gassers in the day screamed with high winding small blocks like you are describing. Harry Luzader's green 32 Ford, although technically an Altered, ran a little 292 CI Chevy that pulled the wheels in all four gears.

No matter what you do to this one it is going to turn out cool.
