I'll add a few things to Don's list:
Plasticguage (I ALWAYS check the rod and main clearance, even a machinest has bad days and parts do get mispackaged)
Feeler guage to check ring end gap
Ring compressor
thread sealer (if the engine has headbolts that go into the water jacket)
harmonic balancer installer
good torque wrench
manual of your choice showing bearing clearances, ring gap, torque specs and firing order.
Paint of your choice
Don't forget to check and make sure the oil gally plugs and cam plug have been installed.I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....
