    no not all 454s are the same some stuff will fit and other stuff will not i would have to write a book for you . so better to just ask about one part at a time as for stroking a bbc i done many the 9.800 and 10.200 blocks .if you go past 4.250 crank there some block work to get the rods to clear not to bad has alot to do with the rods .and some times you may have a small bit of work with the 4.250 crank same deal the rods any stock GM rod the bolts may hit were a cap screw H or I beam they can be less work

    So if you were out to find a 454 block of the least hassle to possibly stroke where would you look for it(type of vehicle) and what code #?. By least hassle I mean the things you mentioned,ie getting aftermarket parts to fit and clear. I think if a fella strokes anything its almost a given the rods are aftermarket. Let me ask. Is there really a lot more off idle torque to be had over a really well tuned stroked SB?
