There isn't any collant in the oil. I am useing an old rough edelbrock performer intake. Could that be a problem?

Are you running an automatic transmission? If so what is it and what is the condition of it? Some times a bad modulator causes white smoke out the exhaust and excessive fluid consumption. On my BBC the vacuum line for the modulator is on top of the runner that feeds the #8 cyl.. Trans fluid burns white.
