You are going to have to take it off and take a look to find out the problem.
Could be the flywheel/flexplate or the starter might be not engaging fully.......a quick look in there will tell the story.
The starter could be loose too...further investigation is needed.Its gunna take longer than u thought and its gunna cost more too(plan ahead!)
