    Compu-Tronix DIS for small chevy??

has anyone here tried this set up before? any experience with how it works or what kind of engine it would work best on? my engine is a 361 small block chevy N/A with about 11.4:1 compression, ported aluminum heads, solid roller camshaft.....looking to either go with an ignition box or with this new DIS idea, but don't know if this is a reliable set up. or if it's designed for more mild builds. it sounds good with the 60k volt coils and the way it fires the cylinders and adjustable timing. any input on this?

    thanks

Should work just fine. I would try to find out more about the reliability and if there are readily available replacement parts.
Other than the eye candy appeal & the elimination of a cap & rotor I don't see much of an improvement over a good HEI for street use.

Haven't looked at one of them, but what I have looked at with a lot of interest is the new front driven distributor setup!!! Uses a dry belt drive for the cam/crank, then another dry belt for the distributor which is mounted up front on the engine where it belongs!!! Gets rid of all the harmonics and "timing rattle" with the regular chebbie rear dist..... Got to be a dead on super accurate setup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
